If you ordered fewer than 30 deskpads and chose Glued binding, your order is made wire-bound instead. This is automatic. It is not a mistake with your order: gluing a very small number of thin pads is technically impossible on our equipment.
๐ง Why small orders cannot be glued
- Too little thickness. Glued binding holds the sheets together along one edge with padding compound. A pad with only a few sheets (for example 3 or 4) has too little thickness for the glue to grip, so there is nothing for the glue to bind.
- Our gluing and drying station needs a minimum of 250 sheets. Below that volume the station cannot run a glued job properly.
- That is why the minimum is 30 deskpads. Glued binding needs an order of at least 30 deskpads.
๐ What happens when you choose Glued on a small order
| Your order | Binding you receive |
| Fewer than 30 deskpads, Glued selected | Wire-bound, automatically |
| 30 or more deskpads, Glued selected | Top-glued |
| Any quantity, Wire selected | Wire-bound (no minimum) |
โน๏ธ Good to know: when you select "Glued" on the product page, a disclaimer explains that orders of fewer than 30 deskpads are wire-bound by default.
โ Frequently asked questions
Can you make an exception and glue just one or two deskpads?
No. With so few sheets there is not enough thickness to glue, so it cannot be done, whatever the quantity ordered.
Why is the minimum 30 deskpads?
Our gluing and drying station needs a minimum of 250 sheets, so we ask for at least 30 deskpads before glued binding is offered.
What if I want to see the layout before ordering in bulk?
Order a wire-bound sample first. Wire binding has no minimum, and you can check colour, writing space, paper feel and page order before committing to a glued run of 30 or more.
Where can I see quantities and discounts?
See Custom Deskpad Quantities and Turnaround.
