🎨 How finish affects printed colour

Glossy paper reflects more light, so photographs, dark tones and saturated colours usually look brighter and more contrast-rich. Matte paper diffuses light, so colour looks softer while text stays comfortable to read with less glare. The result also depends on the printer, the ink or toner, the colour profile and the coating.

⚠️ Warning: coated paper must match your printer technology. For colour-critical work, test the actual material and settings first. See inkjet vs laser paper.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Which looks more premium?

Neither. Choose the finish for the finished item, not for how premium it sounds.
