Custom Die-Cut Sticker Printing in South Africa: Materials, A4 Sheet Billing, Artwork and How to Order

Valenna prints loose, custom-shaped die-cut stickers from your own logo, illustration or brand artwork, in full colour on indoor craft paper or outdoor vinyl. Each sticker and its backing are cut through along your design outline, so every sticker is a separate piece ready to hand out, add to a parcel or apply to a product. Pricing is per A4 production sheet, not per sticker, and there is no minimum order.

🧩 Die-cut or kiss-cut?

  • Die-cut stickers are cut through the sticker and its backing. Each piece is loose and follows the outline of your design. This is what Valenna supplies.
  • Kiss-cut stickers are cut only through the sticker layer, so several stay on one shared backing sheet.

Material choice sets the starting level of moisture resistance, but ink, drying, abrasion, sunlight and any protective laminate also affect performance. Test a complete printed sticker on the intended surface before a large run. Apply stickers to a clean, dry, smooth surface and press the edges down firmly, because adhesion varies on textured, dusty, oily or flexible surfaces. 📐 How A4 sheet billing works

You pay for the A4 sheets that are printed. How many stickers fit on one sheet depends on the finished size, shape and the space needed for cutting.

  • Smaller, compact shapes fit more stickers per sheet.
  • Large sizes, narrow gaps and intricate outlines reduce the yield and take longer to cut reliably.
  • With several designs, state how many copies of each you want, and the finished width or height of each.
💡 Tip: order one A4 sheet first. It shows you the colour, the cut shape and how the sticker behaves on its surface before you commit to a bigger run.

🖨️ Preparing your artwork

  1. Create one file per sticker design as a PNG or SVG with a transparent background.
  2. Use 300 DPI at the final size. Avoid soft, pixelated web images.
  3. Name each file clearly, then put the designs for each billed A4 sheet into one ZIP, for example YourName_Stickers_Sheet1.zip. For more sheets, send one ZIP per sheet.
  4. Do not arrange an A4 layout, draw outlines, add shaded cut backgrounds or create your own cutline. We arrange the sheet and prepare the cutting path for our machine.

White, coloured and borderless edges

  • ⚪ White border: we add about 2 to 4 mm of white padding for a clean contour-cut edge.
  • 🎨 Coloured border: add the HEX colour code to the order notes.
  • 🖼️ Borderless: extend a solid outer colour 2 to 4 mm beyond the intended edge as bleed.
⚠️ Warning: padding, bleed and the machine cutline are three different things. Supply padding or bleed as needed, but never the cutline. See die-cut sticker artwork requirements, white borders and transparent backgrounds and cut lines.
