• Stylus ballpoint: writes on paper and works on touchscreens.

• Metal barrel: a heavier, professional feel that suits engraved gifts.

Check the ink and personalisation method on the exact pen. Both laser engraving (a discreet mark in the barrel, best for short names on metal pens) and printing (when colour matters) exist, but not every barrel supports both. See pen types compared and engraved vs printed pens.

✍️ What text looks best

• Short text works best on a narrow barrel: a first name, initials, one meaningful word, a short role or a date.
• Use simple capitalisation and avoid dense punctuation.
• Check the character limit on the exact product, because pen models do not share one limit.

✏️ Personalised pencils for school, teachers and gifts

• 🏫 School: use a child's name or a short class label so pencils are easy to identify and return.
• 👩‍🏫 Teachers: short names, roles or encouraging words work well.
• 🎁 Gifts: pick a pack whose colour and message suit the recipient.

Retail pencil packs are different from the custom pencil service used for larger or business-text orders. Check pack quantity, character limit, grade, colour and whether one message repeats on every pencil. See choosing personalised pencils.

👥 Different names in a group order

1. Choose the pen or pencil and check whether it is sold singly or as a pack.
2. Select the product's different-name option where it is offered.
3. Use one final name per row in the spreadsheet format, matching the number of individual items.
4. Check spelling, capitalisation and character limits.

🎁 Building a matching set

Use the same correctly spelled name or message across the pen, pencils and any notebook or notepad, and match colours where the options allow. Can I add a logo?

Personalisation is text. Complex logos are not supported on these pens and pencils.

Can each pen or pencil have a different name?

Yes, where the product offers a different-name option and you supply a matching list.

Do pencils come sharpened?

Check the product page. Pencils are generally supplied unsharpened to protect the points.
