Supply one complete, print-ready PDF in the exact order it must be printed, with every page at the exact finished size of the notebook. This applies to every size (A5, A4 and bespoke sizes). Valenna prints the submitted file as supplied; pages are not rearranged, duplicated, resized or redesigned before production.
Every page, including the covers, must be exactly the finished size of the notebook you are ordering. Do not add bleed.

Valenna prints directly onto the cover and interior stock, cut to the finished size, so there is nothing to wrap or hide and no overflow to compensate for. An A5 notebook needs an A5 file for every page. The cover must not be larger than the interior pages. Keep important text, logos, tables and other content that must stay complete at least 10 mm from every edge. This margin protects them from being accidentally cut or punched through during trimming and wire-binding hole punching. It applies to the safe zone inside the page; it is not extra bleed.
Elements that are not important, such as backgrounds and other decorative artwork, can run right up to the edge of the page.

Page 1 is the outside of the front cover. Page 2 represents the inside of the front cover. The inside of the cover is plain white unless you choose double-sided cover printing.

The number of printable notebook pages selected when ordering must match the supplied interior artwork. Pages may contain the same design or different designs. If a design must repeat, duplicate it inside the PDF before uploading. See do page counts include covers?
A5 custom notebooks can be produced in landscape orientation, and a landscape PDF is accepted. Prepare each page at the A5 finished size of 148 × 210 mm and set the page orientation to landscape.

Ideally, prepare the artwork at the notebook size being ordered. A5 and A4 have matching proportions and can scale between each other. Letter size and the A-series do not share the same proportions, so fitting one to the other can crop content, add space or lose layout detail.
Valenna can trim a notebook to a requested size above A5 and below A4. A size above A5 is billed at the A4 rate because it is printed on A4 stock and trimmed. Supply the PDF at the actual finished dimensions and enter those dimensions in the Notes field on the Notebook Printing Service page before adding the product to the cart. See notebook sizes.
Convert artwork to greyscale before submission when grey tones must be preserved. If you select black-and-white printing but need the greyscale file routed through the colour printer, state that instruction in the product Notes field. If unsure, raise a ticket before ordering.
